I wrote this song for my last solo album, Revolutionary. At the time it didn't seem to fit with the other songs so it didn't make the cut. I dusted it off recently and it felt right to introduce it to the masses in light of the success of Amy Winehouse, Adele and Duffy. I played the original demo on the piano but I may prefer the acoustic guitar version.
I was going through some rough things emotionally when I wrote the song. I was feeling very alone and felt like I was on a deserted island. The song was a cry for help as I was struggling to reach out to God.
Fortunately, since then I've discovered a happier place but I think many people can relate to what I was feeling at the time.
